Google value for Edinburgh on St Andrew's Day

What price advertising on the Google homepage?
The search engine giant is an almost ubiquitous presence on the web with upwards of two billion searches performed on it every day.
So when its logo undergoes one of its periodic creative overhauls, usually to celebrate an event or anniversary or some kind, it is big online news.
In the past Google has enhanced its logo for everything from Sesame Street and Asterix to climate change and Remembrance Day.
It's nice to see Scotland finally getting in on the act.
More specifically it is Edinburgh Castle which is benefiting from St. Andrew's Day with a rather stylish mock up as shown above.
I am sure VisitScotland, City of Edinburgh Council and the Inspiring Capital team will be pretty pleased at the exposure.
Even the Scottish Government must be a wee bit chuffed at the saltire flying proudly on the web.
At the moment of writing I don't know if any of them had any hand in this but the extra visibility involved will certainly be welcomed.
It might mean a few more people will look at Scotland as a holiday destination or even as a place to do business which can never be a bad thing.
On a slightly different front there's also a decent, but far from definitive list, of Scottish inventors running here also to mark St Andrew's Day.
It's a good reminder of why our nation is held in such esteem for its innovation.
UPDATE
Just a quick follow up. I have been informed the St Andrew's Day logo is only on .co.uk and not other domains such as .com.
However I think the point of the article (It's a nice piece of branding for Scotland and Edinburgh) remains the same even if the benefits only really apply to the UK market and not quite the whole world wide web.
