When a new owner takes on an iconic brand thoughts quite quickly turn to what will happen next.

Under the control of Bedford based Wells and Young's it would appear McEwan's will be given a bit more attention than it was in the Heineken years.

I am currently researching a feature on the state of the Edinburgh's economy. Despite the credit crunch the city appears to be holding up quite well. What price advertising on the Google homepage?

The search engine giant is an almost ubiquitous presence on the web with upwards of two billion searches performed on it every day.

So when its logo undergoes one of its periodic creative overhauls, usually to celebrate an event or anniversary or some kind, it is big online news.

In the past Google has enhanced its logo for everything from Sesame Street and Asterix to climate change and Remembrance Day.
